Our kitchens

Citywide Services has more than 30 years’ experience of delivering catering solutions to schools and colleges across Greater Manchester. We provide students with healthy, home cooked, enjoyable meals at lunch time.

We ensure our kitchens are in excellent working condition and our staff have everything they need to produce high quality meals each day. Following strict monitoring procedures for our training and health and safety practices.

Our food is compliant with the latest government guidance so we know children are receiving a meal that will help them learn and develop.

Citywide work with our customers to develop menus that will be eaten and enjoyed every day. Our meals are trialled and tasted by our experienced team of area supervisors and cooks at our taster days, this means we can make any improvements before the meals go on the menu and ensure all meals are delicious and nutritious. Our menus contain a mix of traditional favourites and new exciting dishes to encourage students to try new flavours.

Allergens and different dietary requirements

We prepare fresh food that caters for all allergens and dietary requirements wherever possible.

Medical dietary requirements are catered for on an individual basis, we provide clear and open communication between families, the school, the on-site catering staff and the menu development team so we can meet the child’s medical requirements. As we have a diverse range of customers and we can cater for most cultural diets, at the discretion of a school and parents. We will liaise with parents, religious leaders and the school to create a menu that is inclusive of all the school community.

All our Citywide team members who work in our kitchens regular complete food allergen training and food hygiene training, ensuring they have a clear understanding and are up to date with policies and procedures.

About our staff

At Citywide we encourage all our team to develop their knowledge and skills. Working with our training partners we provide regular training to upskill all our team and progress their careers.

All our Citywide employees have enhanced DBS checks and regularly complete safeguarding training.
